EOI for ARAA Office-Bearer Positions
The recent years have seen multiple robotics initiatives starting in Australia, and with that, comes an increasing number of interests to be involved in ARAA. It is indeed an exciting time to be working in robotics!
With a surge of interest in robotics and ARAA, we believe it is an excellent time to start a more open process for roboticists in Australia to become an office-bearer of ARAA. Therefore, this year, we would like to open an EOI process for ARAA office-bearers positions that are reaching the end of their term, which are:
President: The president makes key decisions about the direction and policy of the ARAA in consultation with the ARAA council. The president is responsible for overseeing council meetings, including the AGM.
Vice President: Assists in carrying out the direction and policy of the ARAA in consultation with the ARAA council. The vice president acts in lieu of the president if the president is unable or unavailable to carry out his or her role.
Secretary: The secretary organises meetings, takes minutes and manages proceedings of the association meetings as well as administrative and book-keeping matters.
The EOI is accessible from here and it will be open until 30 November 23:59 AEDT. Please submit one EOI for each position you are interested in (you can put an EOI for more than one positions). Once the EOI period is closed, the current council members will collate them and put forward potential candidates for the above positions in the AGM at ACRA2020. As usual, during the AGM, we will elect the new office-bearers.
The term of the appointment for an ARAA office-bearer is 2 years, with possible re-elections. In general, the work will involve a minimum of ~3 hours time commitment per month. The maximum time commitment is as much as you would like to make it.
Becoming an ARAA Office-Bearer (council member) provides a good opportunity to be actively involved in the Australian Robotics community and to shape the future of the community a bit more to your ideal robotics community. So, please put yourself forward!!!
